Brief Biography
Bolling Hall Holt IV
(Updated March 2011)

Bo Holt was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on January 8th, 1981.  He attended Saint James School, also in Montgomery, where he graduated in 1999.  While at Saint James he was involved in activities such as WSTJ (school TV station), served as an ambassador to the school, and was elected to serve as Student Government President his senior year.  Today he still serves Saint James School on the STJ Alumni Association, serving as President from 2005-07 and 2009-present.

As a child, he was heavily influenced by his grandfather, Colonel Frank Brady, born in 1910, and graduating top in his class as an electrical engineer from Georgia Tech.  He received his first computer, a Timex Sinclair, from his grandfather, when Bo was two years old, and grew up with computers, unusual for a child in the early 1980s.  At the age of 11, he became an apprentice under Commander Rick Murchison, owner of Alabama Computer Associates.  There he learned the ropes of computer hardware, how to properly treat customers, and what it takes to make a small business flourish.

In the fall of 1999, Bo enrolled at Auburn University Montgomery and majored in Information Systems and Decision Sciences.  He was hired as a student worker for the School of Business in March of 2000 where he helped maintain three computer classroom labs as well as providing technical support and assistance to the faculty and staff.  In this position he worked directly with his soon-to-be mentor, Dr. Thomas Lucy-Bouler.  In 2002, Bo applied for the position of Manager of the Sciences Computer Center and was hired as staff in June 2002.  He held this position through September 2007.  He graduated from AUM in 2005.  While at AUM he became a founding father of the Iota Chi chapter of Alpha Tau Omega, served as a senator for the School of Business in the Student Government Association, was Director of Intercollegiate Affairs in the AUM Psychology Club, and was the faculty/staff adviser for the Auburn Montgomery College Republicans.  Bo also was an adjunct instructor in Fall 2006, and he served on the Board of Directors of the AUM Alumni Association, 2005-07.

When not at work, Bo enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music (Pink Floyd is his favorite!), and visiting the beach whenever possible (that's why he moved there!).  He was also an extra in Big Fish (he still keeps regular contact with the talented author, Daniel Wallace), and enjoys video & film production with his "label" TV21! Productions.  He collects vintage Datsun Z cars.

October 1, 2007, Bo started a new job in the Charles M. Baugh Biomedical Library at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL., where he continues to do system administration.  He served as the faculty/staff advisor to the University of South Alabama College Republicans in 2010 and 2011.

October 18, 2008, Bo was elected to the Board of Directors of Shoreline Towers in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and was appointed to hold the office of secretary. This made him the youngest member of the board in Shoreline Towers' history, at the age of 27, as well as him being the youngest owner since buying in in 2005 (his family has owned since 1983). As of 2010, he is still the youngest owner as well as youngest board member, and his grandmother, who will be 98 in June 2011, is the oldest owner.

After the unexpected death of his father, Bolling Hall Holt III, he moved back to Montgomery to be closer to his grandmother. He accepted a position with the ABC Board in March 2011 where he serves on the senior technical staff, responsible for all ABC store computers statewide.
